Information about the termination of the proceedings in connection with the death of the accused appeared in the file of the Military Court of the Southern District of the Russian Federation. The defendant's name is hidden in the documents; "Mediazona" journalists were able to determine that it was the Ukrainian military service Ruslan Romanovich Romanov. The Russian side accused him of three articles in the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation:
Participation in a terrorist community;
participation in the activities of an organization recognized as a terrorist; undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity. According to the publication, Russian law enforcement officers regularly make such accusations against Ukrainian prisoners of war from the Azov and Idar units. Such cases are usually heard in the Southern District Military Court in Rostov on the judge. A note about the defendant's death appeared in the file on October 15.
