Risks to freedom of speech and property: Public organizations and media have declared against the adoption of the new Civil Code. More than 50 non-governmental organizations and media have urged the People's Deputies not to adopt the draft of the new Civil Code No. 15150. The legislative initiative, which was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in the spring for discussion by Speaker Ruslan Stepanchuk and which caused large-scale street protests, is already ready for a second reading. Dozens of organizations objected to the adoption of this document in a statement, including "Mirror HaShavu", the Institute for Mass Information, "Dektor Media", public initiative "Hulka", the Center for Human Rights Available, "Ecology - Law - Adam", "The Group for the Protection of the Ukrainian Environment", WWF-Ukraine, "Tern" and other organizations. One of the main claims of the signatories is the risk of losing legal continuity. The current Civil Code has been in use for more than 22 years, and during that time the courts have developed a practice relied upon by citizens, businesses and the state. A complete replacement of the code eliminates the application of some established legal conclusions and may create legal uncertainty. And we are on Facebook, Instagram, X, Tik-Tok, YouTube.
