‼ Former deputy Sviatash, convicted in absentia in Ukraine, arrested in Sweden: He arrived there for Stevie Wonder's concert in Sweden Former People's Deputy from the "Party of the Regions" Dmytro Sviatsch, who was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison in Ukraine for calling for changes in the country's territorial integrity, was detained. So writes the Swedish publication by Express and the "Kits" project. According to Sviatsch's lawyer, Mark Safarian, his client arrived in Sweden last week to attend a concert by the American musician Stevie Wonder in Stockholm. At the passport control, the former deputy, who has Ukrainian and Russian citizenship, showed a Ukrainian passport.
However, the border guards detained him and refused him entry. The reason, it was claimed, was Poland's decision to ban re-entry, which was entered into the common database of the Schengen countries. At the same time, Safarian believes that this decision has political motives. "This man is one of the most wanted in Ukraine, and they know about it. That's why they act like that," he said. It should be noted that Svyatash is currently in custody at the temporary detention center of the Migration Agency in Mørst, Sweden. In the appeal, his lawyer stated that Svyatash opposes extradition to Ukraine.
According to the court's decision, the former deputy has until Wednesday, October 28, to give written explanations and complete his statement of position. After that, the court will make a decision on his case. And we are on Facebook, Instagram, X, Tiktok Tok, YouTube.
