Apple will release a robot for the home in 2027. The project has been around since 2018, when the first prototypes were approved by then-CEO Tim Cook. Now the development is supported by the new head of Apple John Tarnos - under the code name J595. The robot will be able to navigate independently around the house, conduct FaceTime video calls and turn on the lights when a person enters the room. However, engineers are trying to expand the set of capabilities of the device: the current functions may not be enough to justify the high price. Due to development delays, the release may also be delayed to 2028.
