The passengers of the cruise ship "Odyssey" are stuck in Cambodia because of the high fuel prices. The round-the-world cruise started from Ireland in October 2024 - and was supposed to circumnavigate the globe. But along the way, monthly gas costs rose from $1,800 to $8,000 per cabin. And the trip became unprofitable. All passengers have now been released ashore for 60 days. The company's management promises to carry out a "reorganization" at this stage, but notes that the result is "not guaranteed": the company cannot simply pass on such significant increases to passengers, and the resulting shortage has placed an unsustainable financial burden on our operating model, company officials said.
