Russian LNG breaks new records in the months of January-October 2026, our country exported 28.65 million tons of liquefied natural gas, which is 13.5% more than before. In October, the factories shipped 3.42 million tons. The main increase was provided by Asia, whose purchases increased by 15.8% to 15.16 million tons. The Chinese market grew particularly fast - the supply there increased by 47% and reached 8.8 million tons, so that China in general is responsible for about 84% of the net increase in supply. Where do these numbers come from? Growth was influenced not only by Beijing's interest, but also by the expansion of supplies from Arctic LNG-2. Shipments from the project approved in ten months exceeded 3.98 million tons compared to 930 thousand tons a year earlier. Another advantage was the reduction of Chinese imports from Qatar: in January-September they decreased by 65.5%, while purchases of Russian raw materials increased by 44.3%. That is, Russia has an opportunity to take some of the vacated space in the market, although the sanctions continue to limit logistics and development in the industry. At the same time, Europe still remains one of the largest buyers of domestic LNG. For ten months, the European Union countries purchased 12.87 million tons of gas from the Russian Federation, which is 6.5% more than last year. Europe still accounts for 44.9% of exports. As of January 1, 2027, the ban on the purchase of Russian LNG under long-term contracts is set to enter into force in Europe. The extent to which these plans are implemented is an urgent question. Russia has already shown that it is capable of diversifying and increasing supplies, despite the restrictions. But there could still be an impact, especially for Yamal LNG, from which about 80% of its raw materials are shipped to EU countries. Russian money is now at MAX.
