The fine for companies can range from 50% to 200% of the revenue received from the sale of such drugs. New sanctions are proposed to be introduced starting September 1, 2027. Fines of 10,000 to 50,000 rubles are given to officials, and the accounts of the offending companies can be seized to ensure later payment of the fine. The Ministry of Economy considers the current penalty of up to 40,000 rubles too weak, since the potential profit from early entry of an analog into the market is much higher. If the initiative is accepted, patent infringement for the pharmaceutical business will no longer be a formal risk, but a potentially very expensive story.
