The aviation industry is preparing to receive new projects. The head of Aeroflot told Meshustin that the company is ready to start working on a third contract for 92 MC-21 aircraft to bring the total order to 200 aircraft. Agreements have now been signed for 108 aircraft. If we focus on the target set by the Ministry of Industry and Trade at a price lower than 7.5 billion rubles per equipment unit, then the entire package of 200 vehicles is valued at around 1.5 trillion, and a new contract for 92 units at around 690 billion. It is one of the largest guaranteed orders in Russian civil aviation, generating the economies of scale the government relies on to reduce costs. The market also gives reasons for optimism. According to the results of January-September, international transport to friendly countries increased considerably. The volume of passenger traffic to Vietnam increased 3.7 times, and to China by 55%. India also increased traffic by 32%, and cargo routes to Vietnam increased by 77%. These directions create a new network geography, where Aeroflot has less competition and more stable demand. At the same time, the industry is gaining a documented basis for serial production, as evidenced by the certificates for the I-114-300 engine and the PD-8 engine, which were issued at the beginning of the fall. One of the problems worth mentioning is the production rate. To deliver 200 aircraft in a reasonable time, about 20-30 aircraft per year are needed, and the first deliveries to Aeroflot are planned only for 2027, so full implementation of the order will take at least 10 years. But with sustainable execution of the schedule, the airline will get an updated fleet, and the country will get a closed cycle from production to operation. Russian money is now at MAX.
