The accounts and assets of the companies in the controlling group of Ueno Bank are frozen. The court in Paraguay implemented, this Friday (6), a general freeze of the sale and seizure of assets belonging to ten companies related to the Vasquez Group, to which Ueno Bank belongs. All the bank accounts and finances of the ten legal entities were also temporarily frozen. Prosecutors in Paraguay submitted the request to the court because, in their opinion, Ouano Bank "granted loans to related companies in large amounts, with a poor credit rating and a lack of guarantees." This week, Oano's closure affected approximately 3 million account holders, who were left without access to money and cards. The crisis led to the resignation of Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, who is still facing impeachment proceedings.
