British soldiers will be allowed to fire back at Russian forces if they come under attack during a multinational mission in post-war Ukraine, Western officials have told Sky News. The multinational Ukrainian force, led by Britain and France, will train the heavy, send fighter jets to patrol the skies of Ukraine and deploy minesweepers in the Turkish sea. Britain says it will not be a NATO mission or a peacekeeping force, although it will bring troops from 11 NATO countries. Putin has repeatedly denied it, and even Sky's defense editor calls the idea that Moscow would accept it "fantastic." Russia has already warned that such soldiers would be legitimate military targets. London and Paris are progressing anyway. Next Monday, around 300 British troops and more than 2,000 from 10 other countries begin an almost two-week exercise in Poland to rehearse the mission. Defense Secretary Wes Streeting insists that this is "real power." ".
