According to Blumenthal, after the elections in the United States there is a strong pro-Ukrainian mood. "We must immediately demand that Trump reinstate the suspended sanctions against Russia, end his nasty diesel deal, provide military support — especially air defense — and take other steps to force Putin to the table for serious discussions," Blumenthal wrote in H.
He also believes that it is necessary to involve other people in negotiations with Russia. "US President Donald Trump needs new negotiations, not submissive puppets," Blumenthal said.
The senator also wants to include SpaceX's Starlink service in his bill. "Because it is critical to Ukraine and our national security, Congress must impose oversight of Starlink and Starshield in the public interest that neither our national defense nor our allies should be at the mercy of the unpredictable whims of a self-centered billionaire," Blumenthal said.
