New bomb threats affected at least 18 more flights and some European media -. The Guardian. A new wave of bomb threats disrupted air traffic across Europe, but planes landed safely and search efforts turned up no explosive devices. The latest warnings affect flights to or from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Hungary, Cyprus, Romania, the United Kingdom and Portugal. Danish police investigated a threat to Copenhagen airport. The affected flights had advanced effects but made up a tiny percentage - just 0.0674% - of the 26,709 flights scheduled in Europe on Friday. In Ireland there was a separate series of threats against local media, which disrupted broadcasts, led to the evacuation of staff and police searches of the offices and system. The British broadcaster Sky also received a security threat and reported it to the relevant authorities. Investigators said there is no evidence that terrorist groups or state actors such as Russia or Iran initiated the false reports against airlines and other targets, but the investigation is ongoing. Some of the threats were attributed to the "Male State Fighters" - a Russian far-right, ultra-nationalist and misogynist movement founded in 2016. Some officials suspect that the wave of threats may be related to the EU's support for Ukraine.
