Germany intends to allocate an additional 100 million euros to support Ukraine's infrastructure. Reuters. Berlin proposes to use this amount to restore Ukrainian water, energy and transport infrastructure, as well as to increase resistance to increasingly frequent Russian attacks. A letter from the Ministry of Finance to the Budget Committee of the Bundestag states that these funds will supplement the funding for Ukraine established in the 2026 budget and cover the damage caused by the Russian aerial bombing campaign. In September, the German government already allocated 250 million euros to Kyiv through the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. "This need is unexpected, as at the time of the adoption of the federal budget for 2026 it was impossible to predict the intensity of the conflict," the letter states. "Since July 2026, Russia has increasingly carried out attacks on critical and civilian infrastructure in major cities, on transport routes, logistics centers and factories." 100 million euros, the letter states, will be used to purchase equipment for the production and storage of distributed electricity, repair of water and energy infrastructures, fire safety equipment and renovation of school buildings.
