The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) again opposed the restoration of Russia's status. Reuters. In a new statement, the IIHF again announced its disapproval of the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision to reinstate the Russian teams. The organization warns of "significant practical and sporting challenges" associated with Russia's admission to international competitions. The announcement follows reports from several countries that their national teams will refuse to play against Russia at the World Cup in Germany in May. "As recommended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, immediate reintegration of Russian teams involves significant practical and sporting difficulties, including visa and entry requirements, security measures, logistical restrictions and implications for competition formats," the IIHF said in a statement. The hockey association said it is continuing dialogue with national associations, host bodies and organizers to determine a way out of the situation.
