In France, hackers attacked refrigerators with donated blood - French TV channel BFMTV.

After refrigerators in supermarkets, hackers targeted cold rooms for storing donated blood.

Several refrigerators at the French Blood Center (EFS) were hacked, the institution told BFMTV, confirming information from the newspaper the Duck continued. According to the publication, the temperature in the refrigeration units, which was kept at 30 degrees Celsius, rose to 110 degrees Celsius.

"EFS was not directly subject to a cyber attack. Yesterday our refrigeration supplier became the victim of a cyber security incident. The incident may have affected some cold storage monitoring and control systems installed in several EFS facilities," the institution clarified.

These cold rooms were used to store "blood components" before delivery to medical facilities, as well as "specimens intended for our biobanks", the EFS said.

Thanks to monitoring and alarm systems, it was possible to quickly identify an abnormality and take measures to prevent any change in blood products or samples.
