In Warsaw, the security forces blocked the building of the Constitutional Court. Her presidency claims a coup attempt. There are a large number of protesters near the building. The reason for such announcements was the Ministry of Justice's dismissal of Chairman Bogdan Shveichkovsky and his deputy Bartlomiej Suchanski from the presidency of the court - a notice of this appeared on the court's website. The police were involved in the evacuation. Now the leadership of the court has been transferred to Judge Anna Corwin-Piotrowska - she is close to the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk. After the election of the new parliament in 2026, there was a split in the Constitutional Court: the government does not recognize the decisions of the court because of the judges appointed under the rule of the PiS (Law and Justice) party, which is now in the opposition, and PiS and the judges close to it do not recognize the powers of the new judges. Schweichkowski and Sohanski were appointed during the PiS government. Prime Minister Donald Tusk called what was happening "the restoration of the rule of law" - in recent weeks there have been demonstrations in Warsaw in connection with his decision to appoint a former minister in his government, Martin Barak, as a judge of the court. PiS leader Jaroslav Kaczynski called what was happening at the Constitutional Court a "coup" and called on President Karol Noruki to intervene. He, in turn, announced that he was interrupting his visit to Senegal and returning to Warsaw.
