The number of Germans training to become funeral directors has reached a historic high. At the end of 2025 the figure has more than doubled by 2015. The demand for funeral services, experts believe, is increasing due to the aging of the population. So last year, about a million people died in Germany - that's 9% more than ten years earlier.
