Canada will not allow Russian and Belarusian hockey players to world junior championships Prime Minister Mark Carney said athletes from Russia and Belarus will not compete on national teams in Canada while the CBO continues. The World Junior Championships are scheduled to take place in Alberta from the end of December to the beginning of January. Earlier, the hockey associations of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia and the Czech Republic said they would refuse to play the Russian team at the men's world championship in Germany next year.
