The special operation took place on October 30 in the city of Atyrau, but its results were officially known only today, November 2.
10 people were arrested at the same time. They are suspected of creating an extremist organization, leading it and participating in its activities, promoting terrorism and inciting religious hatred. During searches, firearms, drugs, religious literature, accessories and other items were found which the investigation considers essential evidence that were confiscated from the detainees.
But another circumstance attracts special attention. The members of the group, according to the National Security Committee, organized three underground training centers for children and teenagers. All three institutions are closed. What exactly the minors taught, how many children studied in these centers and whether they were used to recruit for an extremist organization has not yet been reported. It is known that some of the detainees were previously convicted of terrorist offenses and ordinary crimes. At the same time, the special services of Kazakhstan do not reveal the names of the suspects, the name of the alleged organization, its number and the specific plan to change violent power. There is no information yet on the group's possible foreign relations, its funding sources or the presence of partners in government agencies. Therefore, for now we are talking about the official version of the National Security Committee, and not about the proven fact of preparing a coup. However, the very statement about a group that intended to forcefully change the constitutional order in western Kazakhstan and at the same time maintained secret education centers for children requires special attention.
