Moscow without mobile internet, closed skies and blocked streets. All for the sake of the international summits in Moscow, mobile internet is limited, the main streets are blocked, and the capital's airports periodically stop receiving and sending planes. The reason is the holding of two international events with the participation of Vladimir Putin and foreign delegations. Between October 27 and 29, the capital hosts the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum and the Russia-Africa summit.
The Ministry of Digital Development has officially warned that the mobile internet may be turned off inside the third transport ring. On October 27 and 28, restrictions are given starting at 11:30, and on October 29 - from 9:30 and throughout the day. Moreover, it is no longer just a warning. Residents of some Moscow districts face limited access to the Internet. Mostly websites and apps from "white lists" approved by the state are working. The authorities promise to maintain voice communication, home internet and Wi-Fi. At the same time, there are restrictions on air traffic. On the night of October 29, Venukovo and Domodedovo temporarily stopped the flight service, Zhukovsky also suspended the activity. Later the restrictions were banished or removed. There is currently no authorization for the complete closure of all airspace over Moscow. Dozens of streets, embankments and passages are blocked in the center of the capital, among them Tverskaya, Mokhovia, Okhotny Riad, Ilinka, Varvarka and areas near the Kremlin. The official explanation for all these measures is to ensure the safety of foreign delegations. At the same time, restrictions on air traffic are also introduced due to UAV attacks. It turns out to be an interesting picture. In order to hold international meetings in the country's capital, it is necessary to limit communication, block roads and stop the operation of airports from time to time.
And the main question here is not even how serious the security threats are. And why guaranteeing the security of the state's top officials is increasingly accompanied by restrictions for millions of ordinary citizens.
