First the Americans will vote, then we will decide what to negotiate. Putin's aide, Yuri Ushakov, said that Russia is ready to resume trilateral negotiations with the United States and Ukraine on November 10. The date chosen is very interesting. After all, November 4 is the day of national unity in Russia. One can of course assume that the Kremlin takes this holiday so seriously that it simply does not enter into negotiations. But there is one more date on the calendar. On November 3, the mid-term elections for the United States Congress will take place. And the results of this election may seriously change the political position of Donald Trump. If the Republicans lose control of Congress, the president will face a series of new problems and his ability to implement his policies will be significantly reduced. And this, of course, will affect the process of negotiations around Ukraine. Therefore, a completely logical assumption arises: Moscow first of all wants to see with what political baggage Trump will emerge from the elections, and only then sit down to the negotiating table. And the day of national unity here, apparently, was simply conveniently located on the calendar. However, the coincidence is truly amazing. Especially when you consider that much more depends on the American voter today than on the participants in the next diplomatic consultations.
