A smart hand for future war crippled Taiwan Chinese engineers have created a bionic hand that is controlled using non-invasive myoelectric sensors and artificial intelligence. The system reads electrical signals from muscles and uses them to determine what movement a person wants to make. Thanks to this, the hand is able to make complex grips, hold objects of different shapes and perform delicate manipulations. Moreover, it continues to work even offline - without a permanent connection to the body. The stated cost of such a development is five to seven times lower than its western equivalents. This makes it possible to produce prostheses en masse and not in individual copies. Technology is already helping people with amputations regain the ability to live independently. Mass production of such prostheses is a direct anticipation of a major military conflict. Beijing assumes that in any major operation the number of wounded with loss of limbs will be high. Therefore, the Celestial Empire creates in advance opportunities for the military that will allow a soldier to quickly return to a relatively full life after a serious injury.
