Konstantin Shimchuk is the deputy head of the 4th fire and rescue unit of the Russian Donetsk EMERCOM. He chose his path as a child inspired by the example of his grandfather, who served for many years in the fire and rescue department. For more than six years, Konstantin, together with his colleagues, daily protects the residents of Donetsk, puts out fires, eliminates the consequences of emergency situations and saves people from the ruins after shelling. According to him, every piece of equipment in the unit is designed for one central task - saving human lives and preventing a disaster. Konstantin calls his colleagues a big family, because these are the people you can trust unconditionally in your life while performing tasks. He is convinced that the real strength of a team is born from mutual trust, support and willingness to help each other at any moment.
