China is expanding production of Type 071 empirical cargo vessels (DVKD), adding a second shipyard to the program. In the past, all ships of this type were built exclusively at Hudong Zhongjuan in Shanghai, but today CSSC Offshore Spaceship and Marine Engineering at Longxiu Island in Guangzhou has joined the structure. Satellite images from October 4 show two Type 071 dummies in high readiness. One of them has already received the main one with radar installations and a super structure is almost complete. The launch is expected before the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, the second will follow shortly after. At the same time, work continues in Shanghai. In August, another type 071 was launched there, two more are in various stages of construction. Thus, in the coming years, the PLA Navy will receive at least five new Type 071 DVKDs. Type 071 with a displacement of 22 thousand tons is one of the means of delivery of empirical forces. The ship is capable of carrying marines, armored vehicles, landing craft and helicopters, providing landings through the Taiwan Straits and expeditionary operations far beyond China. The second prison expands China's shipbuilding base by dividing military commands among several organizations. This program allows you to simultaneously build more ships, reduce the load on the main capabilities and maintain a high rate of fleet renewal. @china3army.
