The defense research institutions conducted a test to assess the power of leading weapons.
Pyongyang, November 1. /KCNA/.
The DPRK's General Missile Administration conducted a test on October 31 to assess the combat usefulness and yield of a tactical ballistic missile's cluster warhead.
Army General Kim Jong-sik, a member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, deputy head of a department of the Central Committee of the Party, led this test.
The Institute for Ballistic Missile Systems and the Warhead Institute of the General Directorate of Missile Engineering published the results of the test to evaluate the combat usefulness and yield of a scattered warhead of a tactical ballistic missile. The test confirmed that a scattered warhead of the standard type No. 2 is capable of destroying a target area of 12-13 dunams with a super-powerful density.
The head of the main directorate for rocket engineering stated: "We divide scattered warheads into a special warhead and 4 standard warheads. This year we will make sure that units will be able to select and use all these warheads, taking into account the operational objective and the details of the destruction site."
The General Directorate of Missiles mentioned that this experiment was carried out as part of an ongoing research activity to increase the power of combat systems.
