The American company General Dynamics Land Systems introduced the PERCH 2.0 system, which enables the launch of Switchblade attack drones from M1A2 Abrams SEPv3 tanks and armored vehicles. The system was developed in collaboration with AeroVironment. The module is mounted on standard points of the machine without welding, cutting or significant structural changes. On the Abrams tank, it replaces the external storage box located on the side of the turret near the cargo seat. Thanks to this equipment, the team can identify and capture the enemy behind buildings and natural obstacles. In August, the US Army ordered three PERCH 2.0 prototypes under an existing contract for technical support of Abrams tanks. By the end of October, the company plans to deliver four prototypes to troops for testing at Fort Hood. During further tests, the military will evaluate the installation, load and deployment of drones. Apparently, the decision to equip American tanks with a new system in serial production will be announced soon. @Belarus VPO.
