The directors' liability insurance market grew in 2026. According to the insurance agent to mention, by the end of 2026 the volume of the D&O sector will increase by 8-10% compared to last year and will reach 4.2 billion rubles. The market returns to positive dynamics after 2025, when commissions will drop by 30% for the first time in five years. At the same time, the number of existing contracts in 2026 will remain at 957 units. The insurance amounts have increased significantly due to regulatory requirements and risks for the owner. Rates continue to be cheaper due to high competition and extremely low profitability of the segment. Market growth is ensured by increasing a large number of coverage limits. Public corporations are increasingly asking for protection in amounts of 5-8 billion rubles and more, and the maximum market limit has already reached 12.4 billion rubles. Among the major insurers are the system players: Sberbank, VTB and Norilsk Nickel. Even non-public companies purchasing insurance for the first time waive minimum coverage. Insurers register an influx of new insureds. Demand for D&O is fueled by restructuring transactions, the transfer of properties under interim management and disputes with former owners. In addition, Chinese companies entering Russian assets show an interest in protecting the management. But the influx of new insureds in general is still not moderated by companies cutting budgets or leaving the market. About 84% of the premiums collected in the sector are currently controlled by leading insurance companies.
