The coverage of the risks of terrorist attacks and drone attacks will be limited to a limit of 200 billion rubles. The Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNRC) is discussing with insurance market participants a significant tightening of coverage conditions. According to the draft section on compulsory reinsurance contracts, if the total volume of losses of these risks exceeds the threshold of 200 billion rubles, then the rate for insurance companies will increase from the current 1% to 50% of the maximum aggregate limit. At the same time, RNPK's liability limits will be reduced fivefold. The reinsurer intends to notify the partners in advance of changes in terms, and refusal to sign the appropriate additional agreement will give RNPK the right to unilaterally terminate the contract outside of court. The new rules are designed to apply to both existing and new contracts. According to Kommersant, the need for strict measures is related to the RNPK's desire to maintain financial stability without withdrawing funds from the central bank. Today, RNPK accumulates practically the entire scope of specific military risks and UAV attacks in the country, and its total liability in this segment is estimated at 18-25 trillion rubles. Previously, the regulator had already announced an additional capitalization of the company for 165 billion rubles with the current authorized capital of 21.3 billion. The national reinsurer continues to bear a tremendous burden, providing protection to strategic industries on preferential terms. In the first half of the year alone, the company's incoming reinsurance payments approached 38 billion rubles.
