The country has already paid almost 9.5 billion crowns to mink factories. And it's not that everyone didn't get any money at all: many got advances. But the final calculations have not yet been completed. When will the state pay? Transport Minister Karina Lorenzen Denhardt promises that by April 1, 2027, all former mink breeders will receive decisions on their right to compensation. ‼ Attention: solutions, not money! Full completion of the compensation cases is expected only in 2028. A few days were enough to destroy the industry. It took years to calculate the losses. And now the most interesting thing is how much all this costs the taxpayer. Initially, the total compensation package was estimated at approximately 18-19 billion kroner. According to the revised government estimate for 2025, the total expenditure reached 29.2 billion Czechs. This amount includes compensation for farmers and related businesses, farm liquidation and management costs.
