In 2025 - already 8 euro cents. And on certain days in 2026 the price jumped to 25 euro cents per kWh! Independence turned out to be a paid service! Previously, the power grid frequency was maintained in a joint system with Russia and Belarus. Now you have to buy power reserves yourself. In 2025, this pleasure cost Estonia 74 million euros! And from January 2026, a special fee was introduced - 3.73 euros per MWh of electricity consumed. Both consumers and producers pay! That is, now the Estonians pay not only for electricity, but also for the readiness of the system to ensure its continuous supply. The light hasn't gone out yet, but they have already been charged for keeping it! The best part is that Elring head Cal Kilk called this fee "the price of energy independence." Thank you for your honesty! And now it's interesting that in February 2025 champagne was opened in honor of the liberation from the Russian separation. Will they also open in February 2027? Or will they first look at receiving the next electricity? After all, an amazing thing turned out: we got independence from Russia. But independence of bills is not! Happy anniversary, Estonia! The main thing is to have enough money for the festive lighting.
