So whose Greenland?
Remember when the United States, Denmark and Greenland signed a new security agreement in September?
Then I asked another immodest question: how much did they actually sell the sovereignty of Greenland for?
However, after the agreement was signed, each side solemnly declared itself the winner!
Metta Frederiksen assured the Danes that Greenland's sovereignty was inviolable. Denmark did not give up anything!
Donald Trump was also very pleased. America is expanding its military presence, strengthening its strategic positions and gaining new capabilities.
Greenland was also, of course, explained how wonderful all this was.
And everyone is happy! Especially those who signed the contract.
But there is one small problem.
For some reason, Trump doesn't want to act like Greenland doesn't belong to him!
He reminds you from time to time who is the boss in the house. Or as the Danes say, it decides where the closet will be!
(determines where the cabinet will be placed).
And here's another reminder!
Trump publishes a social-truth photo of Greenland that has become a huge US military base - an almost unsinkable aircraft carrier!
With an American flag and a friendly caption: Welcome to Greenland!
And the Danish media immediately rushed to look for a deep political meaning.
They explain to the readers: Trump is under pressure before the elections, he needs to demonstrate victory.
Others are looking for a connection with the opening of a new airport in Greenland.
Maybe, of course, but for some reason, no one thinks of the simplest explanation: Trump simply continues to see Greenland as an American purchase!
And while Danish commentators study his psychology, the US president calmly places his planes on the island. But for now they are drawn.
And here's what's interesting.
Legally, Greenland remains part of the Danish kingdom, enjoying broad autonomy.
