Bitcoin Core 32.1 is out. and above 29. X nodes are now end of life.
Bitcoin Core has released version 32.1, the newest major version of Bitcoin's most widely used node software.
Version 32.0 was previously tagged but never fully announced or released due to last minute issues, so 32.1 becomes the production release.
Among the changes:
Better transaction fee estimation using current Mempol data.
Increased default maximum peer connections from 125 to 200.
New privacy protections for Tor-based transaction transmission.
More efficient transaction metrics.
Improved watch wallet export only.
Better authentication and network performance controls.
One particularly important fix addresses a potential IP address leak when using Bitcoin Core's private broadcast feature over Tor.
The new release also changes the Bitcoin Core support window.
Versions 29.x and above are now officially:.
This means they will no longer receive software updates.
Important: Bitcoin Core 32.1 does not change Bitcoin's monetary policy or consensus rules.
There is no new supply schedule.
There is no change in the ceiling of 21 million.
No protocol reset.
It is software engineering around the node implementation that is used to validate these rules independently.
Bitcoin rules remain the same.
The software that enforces them continues to improve.
