Lebanon wants UNIFIL to complete its operational mission in the south, and welcomes any alternative European force in cooperation with the UN, if an extension is not possible.
The logistical and technical support that the alternative force to UNFIL can provide will have a positive effect in facilitating the mission of the Lebanese Army and easing the life of southern society.
The contacts with Washington continue in order to put an end to the Israeli attacks in the south.
- Israel, through its attacks, puts Iraq in the position of implementing the framework agreement, which prevents the Lebanese army from expanding the country's sovereignty to the borders and restoring stability.
Lebanon expects the support of friendly countries, including Ireland, to pressure Israel to stop its attacks, withdraw from the south, return the captives and allow the country to restore the destroyed villages and return their people to them.
