A member of the Republican Party, Tom Harb, told MTV: We sent a letter to Rubio demanding the establishment of a pilot program that allows the Lebanese to visit the occupied territories of Jerusalem, cancel the boycott of Israeli law and allow direct communication between the Lebanese and the Israelis.

- The letter demands that American sanctions be imposed on any Lebanese official or institution that persecutes or punishes people for communicating peacefully with Israelis or visiting places in Jerusalem.
