President Aoun informed the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lecroix, that Lebanon is committed to UNIFIL remaining in southern Lebanon: its withdrawal will create a vacuum that will have negative consequences for the security situation in the region, in addition to the absence of anything happening there internationally.
