Mortgage issuance in Russia collapsed by almost half within a month. In October, banks issued housing loans totaling only 308 billion rubles compared to a record of 608 billion in September. The number of mortgages issued fell by 40%, to 75.5 thousand - this is the minimum since June 2025. In the past, Russians took loans en masse in anticipation of the tightening of family mortgage conditions.
