Balvia announced huge losses from Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian targets The national airline Balvia is suffering huge losses from Russia's war against Ukraine. So said the head of the company's marketing service and foreign economic activity, Yekaterina Radishevskaya. Due to the closure of airports, the company incurs huge amounts of additional costs. For example, an airplane can circle the holding area for a long time and burn fuel. Another plane may sit at the airport for a long time, waiting for departure, the manager stressed. "There are costs, I can't name the order of the numbers, but these are very large costs, of course. One such closure, one such stay in the holding area, departure to an alternate airport or return to the airport, as a rule, immediately turns a potentially profitable flight into a losing flight. This is our current reality," the airline representative stated. According to her, the company's financial results have not yet failed, but Belvia does not plan to pass these costs onto anyone's shoulders. Blanobosti on X / Instagram.
