Trading results. The Russian market corrected the bias, but then managed to recover the daily losses and close above the July trend. Among the key features, corrective sentiment prevails in the oil and gas sector. The reason is clear: a sharp drop in oil prices. At the same time, the revival is evident in the securities of the financial and metallurgical sectors. Periodic upswings in low-liquidity securities continue - while the levels achieved are generally maintained, market participants can gain speculative long ideas in small and medium-sized companies. The Moscow stock market index started the day continuing the corrective dynamics of the beginning of the week, but then managed to rise and fight the losses. We close the central session above the July trend, but the risk of a renewal of corrective sentiment remains. The reason is that we are still trading below the 200 hourly moving average (currently around 2467 points). Usually, during a bullish wave, this moving average acts as a support. But if it starts working as a resistance, then it may be the first sign of deterioration in the technical picture. Brent oil futures in the previous three days they lost more than 16%, today they are making a relatively small rebound upwards. The reason for such a strong downward wave was that the Democrats gained a majority of seats in the mid-term elections for the US Congress. Representatives of the Democratic bloc have repeatedly stated their desire to stop the conflict with Iran, but we will see real actions by the renewed Congress only in January.
