While Benjamin Netanyahu's political rival was responsible for assembling a new government in captivity, the country's defense minister called for "unity and unity" in the face of "Iran's nuclear threat."
Captive Joel Cutts accused Iran of "renewing efforts to build a nuclear bomb" and warned: "As far as Iran is concerned, our mission is not over."
Iran has always emphasized that its nuclear program is peaceful.
Mr Cutts said: "It is our duty to be prepared for any scenario... Before all the important tasks that lie ahead of us, we must be united."
He added that the enemies of Israel's prisoners "must know that even when we have differences of opinion, we stand determined and united against those who threaten our existence."
After none of the political parties and factions managed to obtain the quorum to form the government in the parliamentary elections in captivity, the president of the captives appointed Gadi Eisenkot to form the new government after consultation with the leaders of the parties.
