🔻 A report by the British Naval Operations Center on a military incident in the Sea of Oman.

The British Merchant Marine Operations Center announced that it had received a report of an incident involving a tanker and military forces in the Sea of Oman, approximately 18 nautical miles (33 km) east of Khor Pekan in the United Arab Emirates.

The center announced in a statement on Saturday 7.11 that at the time of publication of the report the condition of the ship's crew, the amount of damage and the possible environmental consequences of this event were unknown.

According to this hotline, authorities have been notified and the investigation is still ongoing. This center requires passing ships to monitor the latest maritime security information and be aware of developments in the area.

This announcement was made while the Central Command of the US military, CENTCOM, announced a few hours ago that a cargo ship named "Huda" was targeted in the Oman Sea for attempting to violate Iran's naval blockade and was arrested. Centcom said that after the ship's crew ignored repeated warnings, a US military aircraft fired guided munitions at the ship's stern, disabling it.

It is not yet clear whether the incident reported by the British Maritime Operations Center is the same action announced by Centcom against the Hoda ship or is related to another vessel.
