Sanaa quoted a Syrian diplomatic source: Damascus has no plans to send soldiers to Yemen.
A Syrian diplomatic source told the country's official news agency, Sanaa, that Syria has no plans to send military forces to Yemen and called published reports about the possibility of such a deployment "baseless."
This source said about the military cooperation between Syria and Saudi Arabia that this cooperation is currently focused on training the Syrian forces, increasing their military capabilities and exchanging military experiences.
According to this source, Saudi Arabia's coordination delegation trips to Syria are scheduled to begin next month.
He added that this cooperation may lead to a mutual defense agreement in the future, in accordance with the common interests of the two countries, or provide the ground for Syria to join the Mecca joint defense agreement.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan signed a joint defense agreement a few months ago to strengthen their collective security.
