Iran's foreign minister said that in the last two days he spoke with 12 of his colleagues on the phone about the "consequences of tension-inducing measures" that may be taken by the United States and the Israeli captives.
Iraqi Abbas said that these contacts were made with the foreign ministers of Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cyprus, Turkey, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Iraq and Pakistan.
The two countries Qatar and Pakistan are the main mediators between Iran and America. Oman used to play the same role between Tehran and Washington.
Mr. Iraqchi wrote in a post on his Instagram account, "In these consultations, while explaining the basic positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I clarified the need to respect the national sovereignty of countries, stop aggression and threats, avoid destructive foreign interventions, and the responsibility of regional countries to prevent the spread of insecurity."
The contacts between the countries of the region and the mediation efforts between Iran and the USA have increased in recent days, at the same time as the verbal tensions between Tehran and Washington have increased.
