Today, November 7, the "Liberation Award" of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation will be awarded to "Eam Iran" in one of the most symbolic buildings in the history of German democracy.
At the request of this foundation, Prince Reza Pahlavi will accept this award "in loyalty" and on behalf of the people of Iran.
The "Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberation" said that Reza Pahlavi is "neither a prize winner nor an elected representative of the Iranian people". "He is only keeping the prize in trust to pass it on to the elected representatives of the Iranian people in the future."
This decision met with different reactions from Iranians and German political figures.
On the evening of November 6, Yasmin Pahlavi said that the German police prevented Raza Pahlavi from speaking at today's rally.
According to him, the reason for the blockade is "threats and actions of the Republic of Salami".
Raza Pahlavi's press office announced on the morning of November 7 that the gathering "will be held as planned." Since 2006, the "Liberation Prize" has been awarded every two years to people who, in the opinion of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, have contributed to the expansion of liberal civil society and the defense of liberation.
