🔻 A media report by captives about a US warning against the possibility of an Iranian ground attack on US officials in the region.
The captive news website reported that the US issued new security warnings to its embassies and diplomatic missions in the Middle East after receiving information about Iran's possible plans to target American officials.
According to Wynet, these warnings were issued from Friday evening until Saturday morning, including to the American embassy in Jerusalem and the country's embassies in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.
In these warnings, American citizens are asked to be more alert and to be prepared for the possibility of flight cancellations, closing of airspace and rapid escalation of military conflicts.
This report adds that in addition to the fear of targeting senior American officials, the increase in threats from the Houthis in Yemen was also one of the reasons for issuing these warnings. The American Embassy in Jerusalem is asking American citizens to identify the location of the nearest safe haven and to install on their cell phones the POW Home Command alert program. The embassy announced that consular services are continuing as usual.
Last month, the director of national intelligence warned that Iran had increased its efforts to harm Americans abroad and that some alleged assassination plans had reached advanced stages.
