Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and daughter-in-law of the British King, has been charged and arrested in the United States for possessing images of child sexual abuse.
This 82-year-old man was arrested in the state of Florida after federal police searched two warehouses he owned in Los Angeles. He has had these two warehouses for about 18 years.
The US Department of Justice said in a statement that he is set to appear in court on Friday. His photos were published while the police handcuffed him.
Thomas Markle has previously denied allegations of possessing images of child sexual abuse, calling the claims "sick lies".
The case was re-examined after London police confirmed two weeks ago that it had received names in 2019 containing "a number of allegations" about Meghan's father.
