Sibias: Trump asked for advice on replacing Hogst.
The American news channel Cibias reported, citing many sources, that US President Donald Trump asked his advisers whether or not the US Secretary of Defense should be replaced.
The news comes after defeats in Tuesday's midterm elections, and sources close to the White House predicted that key military leaders, including Admiral Brad Cooper, chairman of US Central Command, and General Dan Cain, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, would be blamed for the Republican defeat for their advice on the war with Iran.
From what Sibias has heard, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been suggested as a candidate to replace Guest, and sources said he could receive US Senate confirmation before his term as governor ends on Jan. 5. On Wednesday, however, Mr. Trump dismissed an inquiry into a change in the Defense Department, telling reporters that Pete Hoggest was doing a "very good job," and White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly reiterated that the president had "full confidence" in Hoggest.
