The Red Cross said it had delivered medical aid to the besieged city of Taiz in Yemen.
The International Committee of the Red Cross said it had delivered four trucks of medical aid to the Houthi-besieged city of Taiz in southwestern Yemen.
This humanitarian organization announced in a statement that the aid provided includes surgery kits that will help hospitals treat patients affected by the war.
The organization announced that despite "significant difficulties in reaching the areas severely affected by the war", emergency medical aid was also delivered to a number of hospitals on the frontline.
Christian Cipola, head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Yemen, called on the parties to the conflict to continue facilitating the delivery of the necessary humanitarian aid.
According to him, "the treatment centers must be protected as well as the injured and the patients and the medical staff must be allowed to continue their work." The medical charity Doctors Without Borders also announced that it had transferred medical aid to a hospital in Taiz.
