Less than a day after the Democrats' victory, the price of oil dropped below $100.

The price of oil fell below 100 dollars a barrel and the stock markets finished their work with a rise in indices after the decisive victory of the Democrats in the US midterm elections.

Brent crude, the global benchmark for oil prices, was down more than 8% on Wednesday afternoon to around $95 a barrel; The lowest level in the last two months. This drop occurred after Jeddy Vance, the vice president of the United States, announced a few hours ago that the Republicans lost the election because of the war with Iran.

Vance's words caused investors to reassess the risk of conflict in the Middle East.

The markets seem to have heeded Vance's call to "end the war", to focus on the cost of living and to examine US relations with the POWs, and saw in the political outlook after the election signs of a decrease in the possibility of a significant escalation of tensions with Iran. The main indexes of the American stock market ended their work on Wednesday with an increase. The Dow Jones index jumped 3%. The S&P 500 rose 1.6% and the Nasdaq, which has a high share of technology companies, closed up 1.4%.
