Three possible scenarios for the results of the US midterm elections.
According to the latest polls, the Democrats seem to be in better shape, but the American midterm elections may bring surprising results. In general, after the end of voting and the counting of votes, three scenarios can be considered for the results of these elections.
The first option: the broad victory wave of the Democrats.
The historical experience of American elections shows that mid-term elections usually end in the loss of the president's party.
Polls show that Donald Trump's declining popularity, the rising cost of living following the war with Iran and some controversial government policies, including how immigration officials deal with people, could become the basis for a broad wave of Democratic electoral victories.
The second option: the limited victory of the Democrats.
In this scenario, the Democrats might win a majority in the House of Representatives, but their advantage in that house would not be very significant. In such a situation, the Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives will have to continuously create an agreement between the members of the left and the representatives of the center of their party to secure the necessary votes to approve legal plans.
The third option: keeping the Republican majority.
In this scenario, the Republicans, contrary to expectations, manage to maintain the majority in both houses of Congress.
Such results would show that the polls underestimated the level of support for Donald Trump and the Republicans.
In order to realize this scenario, not only a large turnout of Republican voters is necessary, but also some independent and Latino voters need to support Republican candidates, despite their dissatisfaction with some of Trump's policies.
