🔻 The head of the grave management organization in the municipality of Qazvin says that the use of musical instruments in mourning ceremonies in graves, mosques and the surrounding area is prohibited.
Hossein Amoui told the IRNA news agency that music and "performing unconventional programs" were prohibited. According to him, this prohibition is not limited to mausoleums and mosques and is mandatory wherever memorial ceremonies are held.
Music and musical instruments were used for mourning in the ceremony of those killed in the interceptions of Iran, both in 1401 and 1404. Many families of the dead performed a "mourning dance" for their loved ones.
In some parts of Iran, certain instruments are used in mourning ceremonies, for example, in the south of Iran they play Sanj and Dam Laval.
